The 3rd NUR-FMS Annual Research Day by NUR Center for Research & Policy in collaboration with FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry was held which coincided with the International Women’s Day. The NUR-FMS Annual Research Day is held to showcase faculty research activities, promote faculty – student interactions through research. It also takes place to learn about the research profile of each department and develop a structure for the faculty’s research assessment and its strategy. The participants included Faculty members of the institution, Post Graduate Trainees, academicians, members of civil service organizations, NGOs, and researchers. Also present were honorable Principals and Vice-Chancellors from FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry and other leading colleges & universities in the province. The 3rd NUR-FMS Annual Research Day consisted of an Oral Presentations Session, in which research findings of papers written by 10 Medical and Dental Sciences Departments.. A poster presentations session was also arranged where 36 posters were showcased on various themes. The event also included a session on historical women in research. The panel of adjudicators for Oral Presentations included Prof. Dr. Aman Ullah Khan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Majrooh, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Athar Khan, Dr. N. Rehan and for Poster Presentations the adjudicators were Dr. Abid Asher, Dr. Jamshed Nasir, Dr. Nighat Mir, Prof. Dr. Saghir Ahmad Jafri and Prof. Dr. Babar Aziz. This year a total of 89 abstract submissions were received from 27 departments of FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, including the Department of Anesthesia and Forensic Medicine & Toxicology. Dr. N. Rehan Ahmad, Chief Executive, Research Associates and Prof. Dr. Iram Manzoor, Head of Department, Community Health Sciences, FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry were guest Speakers for the day. Speakers also included, Prof. Dr. Jamshed Nasir, Principal, FMH College of Medicine who presented a brief overview of the research activities being undertaken at Fatima Memorial System. Ms. Najaf Zahra, Research Associate, NUR Center for Research and Policy gave an orientation of the posters on display. The closing remarks were given by Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qureshi, Chairman, Board of Governors, NUR International University & Mrs. Shahima Rehman, Chairperson, Strategic Governance Team, Fatima Memorial System & Founder/President of NUR Foundation. The NUR-FMS Annual Research Day is held each year to inculcate a strong and diverse research culture and promote high scientific impact, informed policy and reformed practice by undertaking robust researches and developing partnerships with other institutions.
